That’s why we love catching up with past customers – and recently, we had the pleasure of revisiting Jodie at her home in Rotherham. Almost 10 years ago, we fitted day and night blinds (also known as vision blinds or twist blinds) throughout her (then brand new) home. Fast forward to today, and we were back to measure up for some additional blinds… but what really stood out was just how incredible her original blinds still look.
Jodie was more than happy to share her experience with Starlight Blinds – from that very first enquiry to how she feels about her blinds nearly a decade later.
1. Do you remember your first interaction with Starlight Blinds?
Absolutely! From the very first call, everything felt easy and straightforward. The team were friendly, helpful, and really took the time to understand what I was looking for in my new home. It didn’t feel pushy at all – just genuinely helpful advice.
2. What was the consultation process like?
The consultation was brilliant. They came out to my home, talked me through different options like roller blinds, Venetian blinds, and day and night blinds, and explained what would work best in each room. I never felt rushed – it was all about finding the right style and function for my space.
3. Why did you choose day and night blinds for your lounge?
I loved the flexibility. Being able to control light and privacy so easily was a big selling point. Plus, they looked really modern – perfect for a new build at the time.
4. How did you find the measuring and fitting process?
Completely seamless. Everything was measured precisely, and the fitting itself was quick and professional. You could tell they really knew what they were doing.
5. What were the fitters like on the day?
They were fantastic – really friendly, respectful, and hardworking (they also liked a good Yorkshire brew). They got straight on with the job, worked efficiently, and left everything spotless afterwards. You wouldn’t have known they’d been, other than the beautiful blinds!
6. Nearly 10 years on, how have your blinds held up?
Honestly, amazingly well. I can’t believe how good they still look. The day and night blind in the lounge still operates perfectly and looks just as stylish as when it was first installed. (See the pictures below that Jodie let us take on our recent visit)
7. What do you think about the quality of the blinds now compared to when they were new?
The quality has really stood the test of time. There’s been no fading, no issues with the mechanism – they’ve just lasted. It’s clear they were made and fitted to a high standard.
8. Have your views on your original choice changed over time?
Not at all – if anything, I love them even more now. They’ve proven to be such a practical and stylish choice, especially for controlling light throughout the day. I think they have remained popular from a style point of view too as I know many of my friends have them in their homes now as well.
9. What made you come back to Starlight Blinds for more?
It was an easy decision. After such a great first experience and seeing how well everything has lasted, there was no reason to go anywhere else. Once we have these next couple of rooms sorted, I will need Starlight back again to talk about Shutters for our kitchen!
10. Would you recommend Starlight Blinds to others?
Without hesitation – I have many times over the years and will continue to do so. From start to finish, the service, quality, and overall experience have been excellent.
